Timur Mikhailovich Frunze (5.4.1923 – 19.1.1942) — fighter pilot, lieutenant, Hero of the Soviet Union.
Biography
Timur Frunze was the son of commander Mikhail Frunze; he was born in Kharkiv.
Education
1Secondary School No. 57, Moscow.
2Special secondary school of particular purpose (artillery) No. 2.
31940 – September 1941 — graduated with honours from the Kachin Red Banner Military Aviation School named after A. F. Myasnikov.
Service
From 1940 — served in the Red Army.
Late December 1941 – 19 January 1942 — fighter pilot, 161st Fighter Aviation Regiment.
19 January 1942
While carrying out a combat mission T. Frunze together with Lieutenant Ivan Shutov, patrolling the area of Staraya Russa, encountered 30 bombers escorted by fighters. In the engagement Shutov's aircraft was hit. Covering his damaged comrade, Timur Frunze expended all ammunition and was shot down.

16 March 1942 — Medal "Gold Star" of the Hero of the Soviet Union
A street in the western part of Bishkek bears the name of Timur Frunze; along it stands Academic Building No. 1 of the Kyrgyz Aviation Institute named after I. Abdraimov. A monument to T. M. Frunze is installed at the institute's administrative building.
