History and general information about the department
According to the Decree № 788 from December 6, 2017, on the establishment of the higher aviation educational institution "Kyrgyz Aviation Institute named after I. Abdraimov", since September 2018, the Department of "Natural Science Disciplines" began its activities. The acting head of the department was appointed - candidate of economic sciences, acting associate professor Oksana Sadovskaya. From September 2019 on a competitive basis, the candidate of philosophical sciences, acting associate professor Ismailova Zhyrgal Kuseyinovna was elected to the position of the head of the department.
The Department is an educational, methodical and scientific subdivision of the Avia Institute, which carries out educational, educational and methodical and research activities, extracurricular activities among students, training, retraining and advanced training of specialists with higher education, as well as scientific and pedagogical staff of higher qualification in one or more related areas and specialties. The department employs qualified teaching staff with academic degrees and titles, actively engaged in both pedagogical activities and scientific work.
Educational activities
Educational activities take place at the Faculty of Civil Aviation. Every year the department staff revises and updates methodological materials, tests, assignments for practical classes, lectures for students. Modular point-rating system of students' knowledge assessment is introduced in the educational process. For this purpose questions, tickets and tests of different levels of complexity are developed. The Department of Natural Science disciplines prepares students of the training program "Management" for graduation. It is also a service department, teachers conduct classes for first and second year students in the directions:

Student research and development work (SRW)
Every year, our university hosts international and inter-university conferences. The Department of NSD has been responsible for organising and preparing students to participate in these conferences on numerous occasions. The presentations are of a high standard, which demonstrates the students' interest in the subject, their theoretical and practical training, and their ability to conduct research.
Educational and methodological work
The pedagogical staff of the department performs a great educational and methodical work, including the preparation of teaching aids.
