Abduvali Sultangalievich Kurbanaliev (26 June 1906 – 1971) — the first Kyrgyz military pilot.

Overview

Abduvali Kurbanaliev was born into a peasant family in the village of Cherik (Börübash) near Karakol.

Education

  • 1 1913 — enrolled in the First Men\'s School in the city of Przhevalsk.
  • 2 May 1923 – June 1927 — cadet of the United Central Asian Military School of Junior Commanders of the Workers\' and Peasants\' Red Army. Graduated with the rank of junior commander of the RKKA.
  • 3 1931–1932 — cadet of the 3rd Orenburg Military Aviation School for pilots and observers. Graduated with distinction.
  • 4 1935–(1938) — Leningrad Military School of Communications. Graduated with distinction.

Professional activity

  • 1 May 1927 — instructor for training Red Army soldiers at the district military commissariat, Osh.
  • 2 Late 1927 — VPT of the district military commissariat, Frunze.
  • 3 1929 — platoon commander of the 10th Mountain Rifle Regiment, political instructor of the regiment, Kerki, Turkmenistan.
  • 4 1932 — pilot of the 35th aviation detachment of the 37th bomber regiment of the Central Asian Military District, Tashkent.
  • 5 (1938) — chief of communications of the 35th aviation detachment of the 37th bomber regiment.
  • 6 1940 — instructor of military tactics at the military school of rifle-bombers, Tashkent.
  • 7 1941 — organiser of the formation of the 24th Initial Flight Training School, head of the department for drill training and head of personnel of that school, Frunze.
  • 8 December 1941–1945 — head of the department of military topography and tactics and head of the personnel department of the Odessa Military Flight School, formed on the basis of the 24th Initial Flight Training School.

Awards

  • 1 1931 — Order of the Red Banner of Labour of the Tajik SSR.
  • 2 1938 — Medal for the 20th anniversary of the RKKA.
  • 3 1939 — by decree of the Supreme Soviet of the Uzbek SSR awarded an Honourary Certificate for excellent combat training.
  • 4 1947 — Order of the Red Star.

Legacy

The name of Abduvali Kurbanaliev was given to Academic Building No. 3 of the Kyrgyz Aviation Institute named after I. Abdraimov; a monument to A. S. Kurbanaliev is installed at this building.
