On 7 October, according to Decree of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic No. 738 of 3 October 1994, Civil Aviation Day is observed.

History

In October 1933, from an airfield in the suburbs of Frunze, a U-2 aircraft took off which for the first time opened an air route across the Küngey Ala-Too mountain ranges at an altitude of 3,500 metres to establish the Frunze – Rybachye – Przhevalsk line.

Significance

The professional holiday was established to acknowledge the particular importance of civil aviation and its contribution to the economy and development of the country.
