In order to preserve the historical memory and experience of the people, and to promote linguistic and cultural diversity and multilingualism, the 30th session of the UNESCO General Conference in November 1999 established International Mother Language Day, which is observed on 21 February.
About the event
On 19 February 2021, as part of the celebration of International Mother Language Day, an online event was held at KAI named after I. Abdraimov, timed to the opening of the small conference hall «Манас таануу». The opening was attended by the institute's teaching staff and students.

Opening and speeches
The event was opened by the Director of the Institute, U. E. Kurmanov. In his address he noted that the language of each people is unique and reflects the mentality and traditions of the nation.
Outcome
The opening of the conference hall «Манас таануу» will help to cultivate in students a love for the cultural and moral values of the Kyrgyz people.
Also, guests were presented with an entertainment concert programme by students, prepared by Kyrgyz language teachers N. A. Askarova and O. S. Rysmendeeva.
