Training of private pilots (PPL) has commenced at the Kyrgyz Aviation Institute — In order to implement government directives on the restoration and development of general aviation in the Kyrgyz Republic, the Civil Aviation Department under the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic approved the Private Pilot Training Programme in the Kyrgyz Republic on 15 January 2022.

Programme implementation

The implementation of the Private Pilot training programme has been assigned to the Kyrgyz Aviation Institute named after I. Abdraimov and the Aviation Training Centre “Bishkek-Wings”.

About PPL

For reference
A Private Pilot Licence (PPL) is the first level of flight training. PPL holders are permitted to conduct flights under visual flight rules (VFR) during daytime. Additionally, having obtained the appropriate endorsements or ratings, a private pilot may operate under instrument flight rules (IFR) and fly at night. The sole restriction is the prohibition on engaging in commercial activities; a private pilot is not entitled to carry passengers or cargo for payment.
