From 18 to 20 September, at the I. Abdraimov Kyrgyz Aviation Institute, the Main Department of Emergency Situations of Bishkek together with the City Civil Protection Service conducted command-and-staff exercises.

Exercise activities

Sixteen Civil Protection services participated in the event, including medical services and law enforcement agencies. The exercises were attended by Bishkek Vice‑Mayor Ramis Aliyev, Head of the Emergency Situations Department for Bishkek, Lieutenant Colonel E. Zhusupov, and the akim of Lenin District Zh. Shakiev.

According to the exercise scenario, at 10:00 an earthquake occurred and students and teachers were evacuated from the KAI academic building. The rescue operation to save three students was conducted in a coordinated and successful manner.
