On 30 January 2026, a meeting was held at the Kyrgyz Aviation Institute named after I. Abdraimov between students and Dmitry Evlashkov, head of the Central Asian regional office of the Rossiyskaya Gazeta newspaper in Bishkek. Second-year students from the institute took part in the meeting.

About the event

The event was dedicated to the presentation of a limited series of postage stamps entitled ‘Kyrgyzstanis – Heroes of the Soviet Union’. This unique project was implemented by Rossiyskaya Gazeta in collaboration with the state-owned enterprise Kyrgyzpost, with the support of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Kyrgyz Republic, and was timed to coincide with the 80th anniversary of the Soviet people’s victory in the Great Patriotic War.

About the project

During the meeting, Dmitry Evlashkov spoke about the history of the project and noted that the series of postage stamps is dedicated to the feat and memory of 73 soldiers who went to the front from Kyrgyzstan and were awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union. The project aims to preserve historical memory and foster patriotism among young people.

The meeting took place in a warm and relaxed atmosphere. The students listened to the guest's presentation with great interest, actively asked questions and participated in the discussion.

Outcome

At the end of the event, the series of postage stamps was presented to the museum of the Kyrgyz Aviation Institute as a commemorative gift.
