A ceremony to raise the flag of Kyrgyzstan was held at the I. Abdraimov Kyrgyz Aviation Institute — with the participation of the institute's administration, faculty and students.

About the new flag

In December 2023 the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov, signed a law on the new flag of Kyrgyzstan aimed at refining one of the country’s principal state symbols. The adopted law changed the shape of the sun’s rays on the state flag from wavy to straight, and their number symbolises the unity of the forty ancient clans (tribes) of Kyrgyzstan.
