
Visit overview
On the eve of the People's April Revolution, students and faculty of the I. Abdraimov Kyrgyz Aviation Institute visited the Ata-Beyit memorial complex and paid tribute to the heroes of historical events. During the visit, the participants laid flowers at the monuments to the victims of the 1937–1938 repressions, to the heroes of the April 2010 events, at the memorial to the victims of the 1916 uprising, and at the memorial to the great writer Chingiz Aitmatov. The director of the Ata-Beyit complex, Abdrakhmanov Bolot Jumashevich, spoke to the students about the history and the tragic events associated with the burial site of repressed political figures of Kyrgyzstan. The students also visited the Taazim museum and the gallery of heroes of the April 2010 events. This visit provided the younger generation with an important historical experience, allowing them to better understand and appreciate the historical significance of the site. The event is one of the institute's established traditions and new students participate each year.
