About the conference
The year 2020 is an important date in the history of our republic — the country celebrates the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. On 8 May 2020, a student conference was held online at the I. Abdraimov Kyrgyz Aviation Institute on the topic "Wings Carried into Eternity", dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The conference was attended by invited guests from the Bishkek Veterans Council, relatives of wartime pilots, the teaching staff of KAI and students of years 1–3. The conference aimed to preserve the memory of the heroic feats of pilots of proud Kyrgyzstan and to pass this memory on to the younger generation. Guests at the conference included: K.S. Menseitova — Honoured Worker of Culture of the Kyrgyz Republic, honorary veteran of Bishkek, director of the historical museum of MTU Chon-Aryk, Bishkek; R.M. Kurbanaliev, D.Sc., professor, grandson of the legendary wartime pilot A. Kurbanaliev; A.A. Isaeva, PhD, senior lecturer of the Department of Natural Sciences at the I. Abdraimov KAI. Reports and presentations were prepared by second-year students. Particularly memorable were the presentations by students Aydai Akhmatova "I Gave My Life to the Sky", dedicated to the first national military pilot Abduvali Sultanaliyevich Kurbanaliev; Suyumkan Mamatova on "I. Taranchiev, K. Ormokoiev — pride of the Kyrgyz people"; and Yana Gofman "The Woman Pilot with the Gold Star" about the only woman from Kyrgyzstan, Hero of the Soviet Union, navigator pilot Evdokia Borisovna Pasko.
