Yesterday in Bishkek, the work of the newly established Alumni Association of the Kyrgyz Aviation Institute named after I. Abdraimov (hereinafter KAI) was presented.

Mission and plans

According to the President of the KAI Alumni Association, Bayastan Kubatbek uulu, the mission of the new community is aimed at strengthening the corporate spirit among students and graduates of KAI of all generations. "At present, there are about 200 graduates in our ranks. Next year we plan to organise a series of round tables. We believe that the number of people wishing to join the Association will increase," the head of the Association added.

Comment from the Civil Aviation Agency

As noted by Karim Usmanov, Head of the Department for Strategic Development of Air Transport and International Cooperation of the Civil Aviation Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, the creation of the KAI Alumni Association will contribute to the development of Manas airport, the personnel reserve, the training of specialists and, in general, the development of civil aviation. "Today the issue of the personnel reserve is acute. The work of the Association will be aimed at enhancing the potential of the Kyrgyz Aviation Institute," emphasized K. Usmanov.

"Previously, more than 3,000 aviation workers were employed at Manas airport alone. Now mainly private companies operate. Large airlines are largely absent; they are not numerous, and their demand for specialists is not the same as it was many years ago. Therefore, certain difficulties arise in the employment of our graduates. One of the main tasks of creating the KAI Alumni Association is to assist our graduates in finding work."
