A ceremonial event took place at the Aviation Institute dedicated to the opening of new sports facilities (a modern football pitch, and basketball and volleyball courts), and to the unveiling of a bust to the Honoured Teacher of the Kyrgyz SSR, Honoured Worker of Transport of the Kyrgyz SSR, and the first head of FATU GA, Ivan Serafimovich Nazarov.

About the event

The event was held as part of the First Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic S.N. Japarov "On the spiritual and moral development and physical education of the individual." Ivan Serafimovich Nazarov became the head and first director of the Frunzensky Aviation-Technical School of Civil Aviation (FATU GA) in 1973 and is its founder. During his leadership FATU GA developed, strengthened and became one of the best aviation training institutions of the USSR. He created the material and technical base that is preserved and enhanced to this day at the Kyrgyz Aviation Institute.
