28 September 2021, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic, Jyldyz Bakashova, met with university rectors.

Meeting overview

At the meeting, more than 70 rectors from state and private universities, as well as officials from relevant ministries and departments, discussed the condition of universities and new approaches to further result-oriented development.

Jyldyz Bakashova stressed:

"I consider it necessary to carry out a reform of the education system. She said that, first of all, the main wealth of the country is human resources, but, unfortunately, the number of people with diplomas without knowledge is currently increasing: ‘Higher education institutions are an important factor in forming human capital. Today’s reality requires leaders of educational institutions to undertake major constructive transformations, to transform the mission and content of higher education. Only a reforming rector can design innovative content, lead the staff, partners, students and their parents.’"

— Jyldyz Bakashova
She added that, in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic "On the spiritual and moral development and physical education of the individual," all state and non-state educational institutions must develop a development strategy.
