Remote learning
This emergency situation related to the virus (COVID-19) and the forced quarantine is a necessary measure. Due to the irresponsible behaviour of some citizens our situation has worsened, and the virus continues to spread around the world. Each of us should understand and accept that to one degree or another we all influence what is reported in the news day after day. Doctors continuously fight for the lives of the infected, the government mobilises all efforts to make the right decisions to combat the virus, and for us it is enough for now to reduce contact with people, stay home and wash our hands — a small price for saving lives and health.
If we speak about what can be done at home, studies were not cancelled, they simply moved to distance learning. We adapted to the circumstances quite quickly, the educational process continues. The main principle of distance education is the use of virtual space for interaction between teacher and student. At the same time, distance education is not based on one hundred percent independent study; rather there should be sufficient close contact with the teacher to understand the material. Also, most of my time I spend doing homework, because teachers began to assign significantly more than during regular classroom learning.
Family and social life
In my opinion the most important thing during self-isolation is family relationships. Often brothers and sisters of different ages are not used to being at home together all day, and the time of self-isolation is a good opportunity to strengthen family ties and get to know each other better. When the virus first entered our country, I did not suspect that we would end up in distance learning. Because of self-isolation I began to experience a strong lack of communication. It is very hard to be outside society for a long time. In addition, I miss my extra classes very much and try to have them at home, although that is still not enough for me. Free from classes, besides watching TV series, I finally found time to finish books I had long postponed.

Digital tools and teacher support
Thanks to modern means of digital communication, a student in the process of distance learning can receive not only information provided by the curriculum but also consultations, clarifications and answers to their questions. Whoever wants to learn finds opportunities. Whoever does not want to learn finds excuses (Abdivaitova Diana)
Distance learning is conducted using programs such as WhatsApp, Zoom, and the AVN educational portal for core instruction. We have WhatsApp groups for each teacher. Lessons run strictly according to schedule, and teachers mark attending students. After receiving an assignment we complete it and send it back for review. In Zoom lessons are held online: we listen to lectures, answer posed questions, defend coursework and design tasks. Regarding the AVN educational portal, teachers upload all necessary methodological guidelines that help us complete assignments. We also submit modules via AVN. In this way teachers maintain constant contact with students. It should be noted that everyone took distance learning seriously. Some instructors at our institute record additional video lessons which are later uploaded to YouTube so students can watch them at any time.
To relax a little during remote learning and to not think constantly about the global problem of the COVID-19 pandemic, teachers invite us to participate in various contests, for example, to record a creative performance dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Victory in WWII, or to record a positive video about how our learning is going.
Conclusions and civic solidarity
One person's decision can save everyone else (Olieva Gulbara)
In 2020 COVID-19 became a test for all countries. Yet it also revealed people’s solidarity in fighting the epidemic. For example, countries that managed to overcome the coronavirus began to help others in need in combating the virus. Among civilians there were volunteers who help those in need with food and protective means. Policemen who stand on duty day and night are assisted with hot meals since they work for the people. Medical workers deserve special respect for their courage. They know that by helping others with coronavirus they may themselves become infected. Nevertheless, they bravely carry out their work. The government provides humanitarian assistance to large families, people with disabilities, pensioners, and low-income families.
There is also a negative side to the situation. In some countries the announced quarantine was reacted to negatively, since many enterprises suspended operations. Those enterprises that continue to work have reduced staff. Even those who work face transport problems: not everyone is allowed to pass checkpoints and certain documents are demanded. People remaining in self-isolation do not always follow safety rules, thereby increasing the risk of infection. To prevent these violations the government has taken measures: We must understand that one person's decision can save everyone else. Take care of yourself and your loved ones!
Personal experience
How did quarantine affect me? (Bazarpay kyzy Begimai) Indeed, nobody could have imagined that after winter all the people of the world would find themselves in such a situation. Earlier it seemed to me that people on the planet are absolutely different and have nothing in common because we are far from each other. But it turned out that we are all equal in the face of circumstances. Previously we lived with our problems that seemed terrible and unsolvable. The virus made it clear that we were all going the wrong way and at one moment united us! I too changed my worldview and understanding. Recently the monotonous routine of life consumed us all. We all chased something, forgetting the true values of life. Now I realise that the most important thing is to be close to your family! And our planet, like us, decided to stop and take a breath, to clear itself of unnecessary rubbish. All factories and plants that polluted nature stopped at once. Recently I myself saw a photo of our beloved city where for the first time in my life I saw our snow-white mountains. It is amazing — for so many years our city had been shrouded in smoke! The time for change for the better has come! Time to appreciate people in essential professions! For so many years teachers, doctors, policemen were not valued!
