On 3 November, a round table entitled "Days of History and Remembrance of Ancestors in Kyrgyzstan" on the theme "The Tragedy of the 20th Century" was held at the Kyrgyz Aviation Institute named after I. Abdraimov in the S.A. Nazarov conference hall. Its moderator was Cholpon Bazarbayeva, Chair of the Central Committee of the Student Educational Movement (ЦК СЭД). Students prepared multimedia presentations about individuals who contributed to the formation and development of Kyrgyzstan’s statehood in the early 20th century.

Moderation and presentations

The Institute Director, Ulan Kurmanov, speaking to the students, emphasised how important this day is for Kyrgyz citizens and noted that the date is connected not only to the repressions at Ata-Beyit but also to the 1916 national liberation uprising (Urkun). Students also showed a prepared video "Repressions in 1937–38", and a historical overview was given by the Deputy Director Aida Emchieva.
