The I. Abdraimov Kyrgyz Aviation Institute transferred 100,000 soms to assist those affected in the Batken region — the institute has also opened a collection point for essential items and arranged blood donations for those injured.

Bishkek, 3 May 2021. The I. Abdraimov Kyrgyz Aviation Institute, with the aim of assisting residents of the Batken region affected by the events of 28–30 April on the Kyrgyz–Tajik section of the state border, decided at a meeting of the Academic Council to transfer 100,000 soms from the payroll fund from a special account. Relatives of two of our students were harmed in the tragic events in the village of Maksat, Batken region. The university management is considering providing them with additional support.

Collection point and contact

A collection point for items needed by the affected has been opened in the institute's main building (office No. 206). The person responsible is Elvira Djumalieva, phone: +996 (508) 331128.

Blood donations
For those injured and admitted to medical facilities in the capital, institute staff and students who wish to help can donate blood at the Republican Blood Centre from 08:00 to 14:00, address — Bishkek, Ch. Aitmatov Avenue, 60. Donors should bring an identity document (passport), driver’s licence or military ID.

Condolences

The staff emphasised the need for unity in supporting compatriots and restoring the border areas. “This is our country, this is our homeland!” — stated the institute’s employees. The I. Abdraimov Kyrgyz Aviation Institute expresses its condolences to the families and friends of the deceased.
