Within the framework of implementing the Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic dated 20 May 2022 No. 158 “On improving the system of civil aviation management and measures to develop air communication in the Kyrgyz Republic”, and with the direct support of the State Agency of Civil Aviation under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and JSC “International Airport Manas”, a full flight simulator for the AN-2 aircraft (hereinafter — the “FFS – An-2”) has been transferred to the Kyrgyz Aviation Institute named after I. Abdraimov for further operation and use. — The simulator will strengthen the institute’s material and technical base and support pilot training efforts.

Purpose of the simulator

This simulator will replenish the institute’s material and technical base and ensure the implementation of state policy announced by the President in the field of pilot training for civil aviation of the Kyrgyz Republic. Additionally, the state has set tasks for the restoration of the existing AN-2 aircraft fleet.

Condition and certification

The simulator currently undergoes inspection and restorative work, after which an application will shortly be submitted to the State Agency of Civil Aviation under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic for its certification.

Reference

The An-2 aircraft was developed by the Antonov design bureau in the late 1940s and entered service in 1948. Originally conceived as an agricultural aircraft, the An-2 quickly became multi-purpose and was produced in 16 different civil and military variants.
