On 12 May, ninth-grade pupils from Secondary School No. 69 of Bishkek visited the Aviation Institute. — Lecturer Zamira Madanbekovna Nurkulova told the history of the Institute, from its foundation as the Frunze Aviation Technical School of Civil Aviation in 1973, about the institute's leaders and cadets, and about Ishembay Abdraimov, whose name the aviation higher education institution bears.

Excursion programme

Head of the Flight Training Department, Shavket Nurmukhamedovich Alaev, spoke about how his pilot career began and demonstrated the structure of an airplane and a helicopter.

Third-year student Erulan Oңолбеков told the pupils how he underwent the medical-flight expert commission, about the subjects and the teaching staff, the specifics of flight practice for pilots and flight attendants, swimming lessons, and that he devotes his free time to studying model aircraft. In conclusion, he advised taking care of one’s health, not to be afraid of the English exam being difficult, and to choose the profession of a pilot not because of the attractive uniform, status, or pay, but out of vocation.

The pupils asked most questions about the medical-flight expert commission (VLEK) required for admission to the Institute.
