On 22 October 2018 an event dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the outstanding, world-renowned contemporary writer Ch. Aitmatov was held at the Kyrgyz Aviation Institute named after I. Abdraimov. His sister, Roza Aitmatova, was invited and spoke to students about the harsh years of repression in 1937–1938, about the difficult childhood and youth, and about the formation of the great writer. Students prepared a staged literary and musical composition based on Ch. Aitmatov’s works: «Ааламга үн салган Айтматов».
